"Over the last twenty-five years or so, I have taught guitar to many a beginner using method books which have been in publication for decades. Although in my own teaching I have favored two in particular, I have seen a variety of instruction books during my career. The more books I saw, the more apparent it became - all beginning guitar instruction books use virtually the same format. While there is nothing inherently wrong with this, having ten or so method books around with the same approach to first position note reading is, at the very least, boring.
